Today our pet is going to tell us a story about Neptune:
Neptune
lives in the bottom of the sea. One day he swam to get the shore,
and being very angry he said:
-This may not go on this way. The bottom of the sea is full of garbage
thrown by humans from the ships; my friends, the fish, are getting
ill because of this garbage and the plants are dying because of the
pollution. So we have to look for a solution.
The children who were playing on the shore told him not to worry;
they were going to think about possible solutions for the problem.
The children organised a reunion; they finally decided to elaborate
some posters and murals to tell the people what was happening in the
sea. Some people stopped throwing garbage into the sea, so the children
achieved their objective: to help in the conservation of the seas.
Amongst all of them will elaborate a big mural that represents the bottom
of the sea. They can draw it or just glue some pictures from magazines
on it.
The teacher will print the supplementary material (click
here to open in a new window)
and give a copy to each child; everybody will colour, cut and glue a
ship on the mural.
Put up the mural in a visible place of the school in order that everybody,
adults and children, can see it.
