Development of the activity When a new child joins our classroom during the school year, it is good to prepare the "veteran" ones so that they receive him and make him feel welcome. To achieve this, we can make a welcome book that contains a physical portrait and a description of each one. For example: what I like, what displeases me, what toys are my favorite ones, what I prefer to eat, what I like more of the school, etc. The teacher can make a guide so that the children know what to do. Also, they can make a book with a picture of the class in the cover and to give it to the new member of the class. In the case of a farewell during the school year, we follow the same idea but this time we make the self-portraits and write beautiful things about the child that is leaving the Center.
