AMEI-WAECE Nigeria Chapter was created by Osagie A. Egbe in 2007 after the First World Conference on Early Childhood Education for Peace. Osagie A. Egbe is the National Coordinator since the establishment of AMEI-WAECE Nigeria.

AMEI-WAECE in Nigeria have been able to bring in early childhood educators into the association as members. AMEI-Nigeria have organised seminars and conferences on early childhood education for peace in Nigeria, conferences on early childhood education and competency development in Nigeria.

The Association provides information on the trends and latest research work in the field of early childhood education. We are helping the government of Nigeria to enlighten the people especially the rural dwellers on universal basic education and the need for parents to send their children to school.

We monitor the primary school leaving certificate examination,junior school certificate examination and the senior secondary school certificate examination conducted by National examination council. 

First meeting was held on 30th June,2007 with sixteen schools representives attending the first general meeting of World Association of Early Childhood Educators,Nigeria chapter. Osagie gave the opening speech and there was a paper presentation on the problems of early childhood educators in Nigeria by comrade Osayi Ihaza Omoregie and he delivered a paper presented on teaching emotional intelligence through the language of play by Lawrence E. Shapiro during the world conference of WAECE in Albacete,Spain to them. A t the end of the meeting, Osagie gave them refreshment mineral drinks.
AMEI-WAECE,Nigeria chapter had succeeded in creating awareness about WAECE,Nigeria chapter and have got members.The meetings are held monthly inorder to create greater awareness of WAECE,Nigeria for us to increase our memberships.

AMEI-WAECE NIGERIA CHAPTER on going-future projects:

To reach the rural areas and enlighten the rural dwellers on universal basic education,on the need for parent to send their children to early school since universal basic education is free in Nigeria.

AMEI-WAECE in Nigeria intend to establish a library on early childhood education in Nigeria where children and educators can easily access information.

AMEI-WAECE,Nigeria will be of great assistant to any organisation,association and educators from any part of the world who want to visit Nigeria and see how early childhood education is operated in Nigeria especially in the rural areas. Should please contact us.

AMEI-WAECE,Nigeria is willing to partner with any organisation or association that want to bring project on early childhood educational development to Nigeria.

AMEI-WAECE,Nigeria intend to have a training institute on early childhood education in the near future. This institute will solely be own and runned by AMEI-WAECE to serve Africa and the whole world in general.

AMEI-WAECE,Nigeria look forward toward 2015 world conference on early childhood education to be held and hosted in Nigeria.

AMEI-WAECE,Nigeria is planning a conference in the Niger/Delta area of Nigeria for educators on early childhood education with the theme: Preparing the child to assume a responsible life in a free society with a spirit of understanding and peace.
