Environmental education for children from 2 to 6 years old

We can only understand the environmental education if we treat it simultaneously with what we traditionally know as value education. Children won't take care of the environment if they don't usually respect either themselves or other people. So it is clear that we have to educate children in order to share, respect, love believe, etc. The CLUB FOR CHILDREN WHO TAKE CARE OF PLANETH EARTH offers PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES for the REAL environmental education. The activities are organised around several areas. They are grouped to help the educator select which activity or activities to be carried out with the children according to their current interest or motivation.

They are no longer than 10 to 15 minutes. They are meant to become part of the regular classroom program and the time to share and work together as a break from the regular routine. The program also contemplates the collaboration of parents.

The activities corresponding to the school calendar are grouped along the following areas: The animals, The plants, Our care, Personal relationships, Natural settings, Urban settings.

They are no longer than 10 to 15 minutes. They are meant to become part of the regular classroom program and the time to share and work together as a break from the regular routine. The program also contemplates the collaboration of parents.

Although each area is sequenced, the activities are independent so that each educator, according to her country of residence and her students can use the program as she sees fit.

The program is aimed at children between the ages of two and six, so that the activities have to be used according to their level of difficulty, always keeping in mind that the ultimate goal is not only the environmental education program but also a values education program.

There is a section in every activity outlining the attitudes and skills that can be worked on towards the care of the environment.
